The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi-pure-bloods-have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals-well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures. Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden. Unfortunately, she’s crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn’t her biggest problem–staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.

My Thoughts:

I love, love, loved this book! It was just absolutely amazing! Right from the very first page I was hooked. A lot of books start off slow with lots of introductions, but this book starts off with a BANG! The main character, half-blood Alex, is in an abandoned warehouse racing from the vicious aether addicted diamons. She’s about to be finished off but cue pure-blood Aiden St. Delphi, the heart-throb diamon chaser, to save the day. After this action-packed first scene, the book doesn’t slow its pace at all for even a second!!

To say the plot isn’t boring is an understatement. It’s constantly action packed, with plenty of witty humor and a bunch of BA characters. There are so many twist and turns that leave you dizzy and rushing to find out how it’s all going to end!

The forbidden romance that begins between Alex and Aiden is just incredible and breathtaking. It starts when Aiden volunteers to catch Alex up on training that she missed in the past three years of not being at the Covenant. From then on, the rules start to go right out the window! Even though it could be a terrible end for them both, the whole book you’re rooting for them to be together. Jennifer L. Armentrout certainly has a knack for making her characters and their relationships so deep and believable.

I planning on reading the sequel to this book the second I am done with this book because I can literally not get enough of Aiden and Alex!!

I never wanted this book to end and I plan on reading it multiple times. If you don’t read this book, you will definitely be missing out!1
